Top Chicago Interior Design Firm Creates Magnificent Indoor-Outdoor Pool
Redesigning an existing indoor-outdoor pool was part of a wider design brief for Runa Novak. The clients were unhappy with their swimming pool, so they decided to hire a Chicago interior design firm to provide interior design services. Runa Novak, a top 10 designer from the In Your Space interior design firm, came up with an innovative design to transform the existing interior pool into a much more desirable indoor-outdoor pool.
Before
The existing swimming pool was closed up with ugly, busy windows and doors
It was very dark inside and therefore not very inviting
The décor consisted of ugly earth tone paint colors
The first thing Runa did was to replace all of the windows and doors with Nana Collapsible doors. These are designed to open up, rather like an accordion, which enables an indoor swimming pool to be turned into an outdoor swimming pool when the weather permits
Runa painted the ceiling white and the vertical supports black
She replaced the border of the swimming pool and hot tub with black and white checker board tiles to jazz up the space
She also installed hemlock wood on the ceiling soffit and painted the trim in black to match the decorative scheme in the rest of the house
