Interior Design Denver CO – Runa Novak Creates a Stunning Family Room

Family rooms are often used for many different things, which is why the layout needs to be well thought out. The original family room in this project was anything but well thought out, which is why the client looked into interior design Denver CO and chose Runa Novakand her firm In Your Spaceto take on the task of creating a stunning new family space.

Before

new moon The family room was dark and closed up and even though it was a good size space, it looked and felt cramped

new moon The windows had many mullions and looked ‘busy’

new moon The overall look of the room was cluttered

new moon The room had been decorated with ugly earth tone paint colors

new moon The whole space looked run down, tired and dated

new moon Runa raised the sloped ceiling in the window area and turned it into a gable roof line. She then added sliding doors and triangle windows to follow the slope of the new roof line

new moon Runa added as many recessed lights as possible

new moon She installed a custom floating bar and sink.

new moon Floating glass shelves were chosen to keep the area light and airy

new moon A large flat screen TV was hung on one wall

new moon Runa sourced a Green Goddess chandelier from Kathy Kuo in New York

new moon Walnut floors and a long hair shag rug from Aztec Rug in Denver, CO were added for texture
